Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to have a doctor's referral to see a physical, occupational or speech therapist?   A: You are not required to have a doctor's referral to be treated by a therapist; however, some insurance companies may require a doctor's order for therapy to be a covered benefit. This information is available by making a quick call to your insurance company. You can make this call yourself, or we would be happy to help you with that.

Q: How long will my appointment take?   A: Most initial visits take approximately 45 minutes to one hour. Since each situation is different, your therapist will be able to give you a frequency and length of visit estimate after the initial evaluation.

Q: Does insurance pay for therapy? Are you a provider with my insurance company?   A: Most plans have a therapy benefit. We will be happy to check your benefits for you or you can place a call to your insurance company to check on your policy's benefits. Many times insurance companies will treat your therapy visit in the same manner as a visit to your doctor. We are providers with most major insurance companies, but we can verify that with your individual company when you provide us with your insurance information. We also file your claims for you. Our billing office is always available to answer any questions or concerns you might have regarding your claims or monthly statement.

Q: Approximately how much will the appointment cost?   A: Since every patient's situation is different, there is not a set cost per visit. Charges are determined by the treatment administered to each patient.

Q: What will the treatment involve?   A: The therapist will begin with a full evaluation of your condition. Treatment may involve manual or massage therapy, therapeutic exercise, muscular re-education, ultra-sound, aquatic therapeutic exercise, traction, splints or braces, etc. Many of our therapists have specialized training in the treatment of lymphedema, vestibular rehab, orthotics, etc.

Q: What are your office hours?   A: Sports Rehab is open from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Monday - Friday. We are also open on Saturdays from 8:00 - 11:00 a.m.
